5Looks great after a clearcoat
By Kevin Clark
Installed very easily (seriously, it's two sheet metal screws. If you can't figure out how to work a screwdriver, you have bigger issues than picking a license plate frame that you may wish to address first) though the plastic washers were a bit snug. That's to be expected however, since it's supposed to keep the screw from scuffing up the frame when you tighten it down, and to also work with the supplied caps to keep moisture out and keep the screws from rusting. Plus, they're stylish.

The frame is definitely metal, and it impressed me with how thick it was. It doesn't seem to bend or twist very easily which was a primary concern for me. Granted, if you apply enough effort to anything, you will dent, bend, or even break it. In this case, it didn't bend when I attempted to twist it, and I couldn't warp it by just pushing my thumb down on it. I've managed to warp metal on TV stands rated to hold 80+ pound TV's in the past by just putting the screws into it, so to see that a license plate frame was given more care to quality in its making was pleasantly surprising.

I was a bit concerned with the vinyl lettering before purchasing. I assumed the lettering is hand applied, so I wasn't expecting laser-lined perfection for alignment, and frankly neither should anyone else. Mine fortunately was aligned enough that you'd seriously have to look at it to see how it isn't perfect. I had read previous reviews on a different frame that the lettering may come off for some people due to the temperature, so I resolved this issue by applying a couple layers of clearcoat out of a rattle can. Needless to say, it shined up the frame pretty well and I like it even more now, because the lettering and the logo kind of "pops out" now.

If I absolutely HAD to ding this product on anything, it'd be that the vinyl lettering isn't perfectly centered due to possibly being hand applied. Still, compared to local places by me selling just about every license plate frame of every brand logo that you could imagine, the price I paid for this frame and the quality by comparison is of a much higher value than what I could get locally. It's a metal frame that doesn't bend or give easily, instead of some shoddy cheap plastic one that fades and cracks as soon as it gets a little sun on it. I basically paid less for higher quality, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that's a good thing.

Nice license plate frames. One of them had slight damage, but they look nice and arrived in a a couple of days.
